Susanne L. Porter, RN, MSN, FNPNurse Practitioner
Susanne Porter is a Family Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Gorab at Orthopaedic Specialty Institute. Susie currently works with Dr. Gorab to manage the care of total joint replacement and arthritis surgery patients within the office, operating room and the hospital nursing units. She is also a Certified RN First Assistant to Dr. Gorab in the operating room. Susie had been with Dr. Gorab for over 20 years. Prior to joining Dr. Gorab’s team, Susie worked on a surgical floor taking care of post-operative surgical patients and has worked as a staff nurse and a RN First Assistant in the operating room at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. She has privileges at Hoag Orthopedic Institute and Main Street Specialty Surgery Center. She is a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. Susie is the Director of Allied Health Professionals at Hoag Orthopedic Institute representing all allied health professionals administratively.
She is a consultant for Ethicon teaching physicians, PAs, NPs and RNFAs how to suture and knot tie. She also a faculty member at UCLA and instructs RNFA students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, skiing, bike riding and being with her granddaughter.
